Inspiration.

So, I was totally inspired to write this the other day, don't know where it's going yet, and it is still kinda raw, but I thought I would share it with you anyway.....

"I remember that day very clearly, it was a cold and rainy morning, and I had been preoccupied with the business of the day. Much to busy with my own mind to notice any of the people around me, but that was a state short lived, because out of the corner of my eye I saw him. I'm sure not many of the people passing by would have noticed, and sometimes I wish that I hadn't, but there he was, just the same as he always had been. He stood there, leaning up against the wall that opened up into the alley behind him, hands in his pockets and the second half of his cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Most people wouldn't know that he picked up smoking in Africa, or that he had probably noticed every single one of them. If they did know, then perhaps they would suspect that he was a great adventurer, or a dangerous man, they would have no thought of the truth. As for me, I knew this man better almost than I knew myself, and furthermore, I knew that this was the moment of truth, and that I would have to decide now what I was going to do. I knew he had seen me, there was no question in my mind. I knew what he wanted me to do, and that I didn't really want to do it. The last time we met had been one of the most difficult, challenging, and life altering experiences of my life, just like every other time we met, only, the last time we had not parted well. I also knew that if I chose to ignore him, to walk the other way, to go on with my life, that it would be a mistake. All of this happened in a flash, it took me no time to decide, and as soon as I caught his gaze, he knew my answer, and with a half smile on his face, he walked down the block, around the corner, and into the diner. It was there that I was bound too, I would say "little did I know," but I knew, and I had already made my decision."

This of course, is a work of fiction, the whole thing just jumped into my head the other day. I think it sounds interesting...what do you think?
